[03-17-10] <\/b>The U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency<\/b> (DISA) awarded MTN Government Services <\/b>a contract worth more than $50 million to provide global broadband satellite services for five years, MTN announced March 16.
\n MTN will supply global C- and Ku-band satellite bandwidth to support the mission requirements for a key agency within DISA. The initial six-month award is for $6.5 million, and the contract includes five options, which when exercised, will bring the total contract value to more than $50 million.
\n \u201cThe global satellite enterprise system for DISA will be comprised of a geospatially diversified satellite infrastructure and geographically diversified ground entry points, providing continuous non-preemptable bandwidth with 24\/7\/365 availability to support broadband voice and data communications through transportable, tactical, very small aperture terminals (VSAT),\u201d James Ramsey, president of MTN Government Services, said in a statement.<\/p>\nRelated Stories-<\/h2>\n
