{"id":87673,"date":"2010-01-08T21:14:32","date_gmt":"2010-01-08T15:03:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-productionenv-bjg9h2g2bgg5b8aa.southeastasia-01.azurewebsites.net\/news\/ec-selects-galileo-constellation-manufacturer-system-support-provider\/"},"modified":"2026-08-19T14:45:03","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T06:45:03","slug":"ec-selects-galileo-constellation-manufacturer-system-support-provider","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starpath.global\/news\/ec-selects-galileo-constellation-manufacturer-system-support-provider\/","title":{"rendered":"EC Selects Galileo Constellation Manufacturer, System Support Provider"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[01-08-10] <strong>The European Commission<\/strong> (EC) and<strong> European Space Agency<\/strong> (ESA) issued three of six Galileo program contracts in its satellite tendering process that began in September 2008.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The EC contracted a consortium led by <strong>OHB-System<\/strong> and<strong> Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd.<\/strong> (SSTL) to build and test the 14 satellites for the Galileo satellite program, SSTL and OHB announced Jan. 7.<br \/>\nOHB-System will assume the role of prime contractor with responsibilities to oversee the development and overall integration of the satellite platform. <br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp; SSTL, which built Giove-A, the first Galileo satellite, will build and integrate the navigation payloads and support OHB with the final integration.
