Thales will develop and supply the&nbsp;<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">Ka-band<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">&nbsp;<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">Solid-State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs)<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">&nbsp;that will be a key component of the antenna link between Earth and SWISSto12&#8217;s HummingSat range&nbsp;<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">of next-generation, small-sized&nbsp;<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">geostationary<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">&nbsp;telecommunications&nbsp;<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">satellites<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"LTR\">This first contract with a New Space player is a further illustration of <span dir=\"LTR\">Thales<\/span>&#8216;s ability to adapt to the needs of a sector that has been profoundly impacted by demand from geostationary telecom satellite operators for more flexible coverage, and by the expanding role of satellite constellations. The agreement further consolidates Thales\u2019s position as a full-range supplier of amplification solutions, from conventional&nbsp;<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">traveling wave tubes (TWTs)<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">&nbsp;to compact, lightweight dual-TWT and SSPA products.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"LTR\">The SSPA amplifiers from <span dir=\"LTR\">Thales<\/span> will be part of the array antenna of the <span dir=\"LTR\">HummingSat<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\">&nbsp;<\/span>payload. More compact, less expensive, optimized for size and weight and with highly integrated electronics, these innovative amplifiers are perfectly tailored to the needs of new small-sized GEO satellites like HummingSat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"LTR\">These advanced technologies are the result of successful collaboration within the <span dir=\"LTR\">Thales<\/span> organization. The Group has set up a dedicated team to develop SSPA products that meet the time-to-market and design-to-cost requirements of customers.
