Backed by a private investment of more than \u20ac20 million ($21.8 million) from industrial parent company Comat, the facility establishes a dedicated site for the assembly, integration, and serial production of satellites weighing up to 600 kilograms.<\/p>\n

Industrial Manufacturing Model and Cleanroom Infrastructure<\/strong><\/p>\n

Founded by industrial group Comat alongside aerospace executive Giuseppe Santangelo, Space Industries designed the factory to transition satellite production from bespoke assembly to standardized manufacturing. Construction of the facility began in July 2025 and took 15 months to complete, drawing on Comat\u2019s 70-year industrial background in specialized cleanroom development. Operating as a platform-agnostic provider, the site supports commercial, institutional, and scientific programs across single-unit builds, pilot production runs, and multi-satellite constellations.<\/p>\n

Technical Specifications and Environmental Testing Capabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

The industrial complex spans 8,000 square meters, including 2,000 square meters of ISO 8-certified cleanrooms partitioned into up to 12 compartmentalized integration suites to protect customer proprietary designs. At full operational scale, Stellar Hub is engineered to deliver a theoretical maximum capacity of up to 140 satellites annually.<\/p>\n

The site consolidates the complete qualification sequence under a single roof to eliminate transit between disparate test facilities:<\/p>\n

  • Thermal-Vacuum Testing:<\/strong> Integrates two thermal-vacuum (TVAC) chambers measuring 1 meter and 3 meters in diameter.<\/li>\n
  • Environmental Stress Verification:<\/strong> Houses dedicated bays for vibration, electromagnetic compatibility, and propulsion testing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Initial Customer Contracts and 2030 Expansion Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Space Industries has secured three contracts to date. The site recently supported thermal testing for the Layer-0 upgrade module of the International Space Station\u2019s Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS-02) particle detector with NASA, CERN, and MIT researchers. In conjunction with the facility\u2019s opening, the company confirmed a new agreement with D-Orbit, initiating acceptance testing for its ION Satellite Carrier platform.
