
Dragonfly Aerospace, one of the leading manufacturers of cutting-edge imaging satellites and payloads has unveiled a new high-performance imaging satellite bus for scientific applications.
The DRAGONFLY BUS from Dragonfly Aerospace is a 200 kg satellite bus that is designed for precise spatial resolution earth imaging and mapping for a wide range of communicational and scientific applications. This satellite bus has a lifetime of up to 8 years.
The DRAGONFLY BUS can accommodate a payload of up to 250 Kg and has a payload volume of greater than 1000 x 1000 x 1000 mm. It has an energy storage of up to 2400 Wh and a solar array peak power of 1130 W. The satellite bus uses an S-Band TMTC communication module with a downlink data rate of 400 kbps and an uplink rate of 150 kbps.
The satellite bus features a fully autonomous AOCS with a pointing control stability of less than 0.002 degrees/sec (3-sigma) and a pointing control accuracy of less than 0.02 degrees. It has a slew rate of up to 2 degrees/sec and a control frequency of 10 Hz. The DRAGONFLY BUS uses a Xenon electric propulsion system that has a thrust of 28 mN and an ISP of 1850 sec. The satellite bus supports RS-422, RS-485, and CAN interface for TMTC and LVDS, SpaceWire, and MGT for data interface.
