Analysis of my country’s Satellite Internet Constellation Networking

At 22:15 on August 17, 2025, the Satellite Internet Low Orbit 09 Group A-E satellites successfully lifted off on the Long March 6A Y10 carrier rocket at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. Subsequently, the satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success. So far, my country’s satellite Internet constellation has added five more stars, bringing the number of low-orbit network satellites to 72. The satellite launched this time was developed by the Microsatellite Innovation Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the rocket used, the Long March 6A, was developed by the Eighth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology. The Long March 6A is a rocket developed based on the successful first flight of the Long March 6 rocket and fully inheriting existing technologies. The SSO (700 km) transport capacity is greater than 5 tons. In terms of rocket configuration, the Long March 6A has a two-stage and a half configuration, equipped with four solid boosters, which fully combines the advantages of solid power thrust, large thrust, short time, and liquid power thrust, stable thrust, and high specific impulse. In terms of test and launch mode, Long March 6A adopts the “one horizontal and two vertical” (horizontal transfer, vertical assembly, vertical test) test and launch mode, relying on a fixed launch tower for launch, with a test and launch cycle of 14 days. In 2024, the Long March-6A carrier rocket will carry out a total of 5 launch missions. In 2025, so far, the Long March 6A has carried out 6 missions, nearly 1 mission in January, showing the maturity, reliability and efficiency of the Long March 6A.

Among the nine groups of low-orbit network satellites that have been launched:

From the perspective of satellites, there are 5 groups of satellites developed by the Fifth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology, namely Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 01 Satellite (10), Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 02 Satellite (9), Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 03 Satellite (10), Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 05 A~E Satellite (5), Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 08 Satellite (10), a total of 44 satellites. There are three groups of satellites developed by the Microsatellite Innovation Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, namely Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 04 A-Sats (5 satellites), Satellite Internet Low-Orbit Group 06 Satellites (9 satellites), and Satellite Internet Low-Orbit Group 09 Group A-E Satellites (5), a total of 19 satellites. There is a group of satellites developed by Galaxy Aerospace, which are satellite Internet low-orbit group 07 satellites, with a total of 9 satellites.

From the perspective of launch sites, Hainan still occupies the main position for launches. Among the nine groups of low-orbit network satellites that have been launched, Hainan has undertaken a total of 6 missions. Among them, the Wenchang Space Launch Site has undertaken four missions, namely, Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 01, Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 02, Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 03, and Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 08. The Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site has undertaken two missions, namely, Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 06 (using Hainan Shangfa Station No. 1) and Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 07 satellite (using Hainan Shangfa Station No. 2).

From the perspective of rockets, the rockets undertaking the mission include Long March 5B, Long March 6A, Long March 8A, and Long March 12. Among them, Long March 5B has undertaken three missions, namely satellite Internet low-orbit group 01 satellites (10), satellite Internet low-orbit group 03 satellites (10), and satellite Internet low-orbit group 08 satellites (10). The Long March 6A has undertaken three missions, including Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 04 A to E (5 satellites), Satellite Internet Low Orbit Group 05 A to E (5), and Satellite Internet Low Orbit 09 Group A to E (5). Long March 5B and Long March 6A use the same type of star. The Long March 8A has undertaken two missions, namely satellite Internet low-orbit group 02 satellites (9 satellites) and satellite Internet low-orbit group 06 satellites (9 satellites). Long March 12 undertakes one mission, satellite Internet low-orbit group 06 satellites (9 satellites). The Long March 8A and the Long March 12 have the same type of star.
