Stanford Researcher Develops Satellite AI Navigation System

Stanford Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics Simone D’Amico is developing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system to create a satellite “tow truck,” which would help identify, redirect, and either remove or restart satellites aimlessly orbiting in graveyard orbits.

According to Stanford, D’Amico’s Space Rendezvous Lab (SLAB) is working with the European Space Agency (ESA) on this project.
