SpaceX Hires Former NASA Astronaut to Safety, Mission Assurance Team

[03-08-11] Retired NASA Astronaut Garrett Reisman has joined SpaceX as senior engineer of astronaut safety and mission assurance, the company announced March 7.
    Reisman will join another former NASA astronaut, Ken Bowersox, in preparing SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft to carry astronauts. Reisman will help SpaceX in the development of human interfaces including controls, displays, seats, suits and environmental control systems.
    Reisman flew on two space shuttle missions before retiring from NASA in 1998. He also served with the Expedition-16 and the Expedition-17 crews as a flight engineer aboard the International Space Station.
