EMS Merges Satcom Division into New Business Unit

[01-22-10] EMS Technologies has formed a new business unit, EMS Aviation, which will include the Company’s EMS Satcom division, the company announced Jan. 20.
   EMS Aviation also includes the recently acquired EMS Formation business and EMS Sky Connect. The new unit will combine the customer bases of all three divisions.
   Nim Evatt, former general manager of EMS Formation will lead EMS Aviation as vice president and general manager. Evatt previously served as president and CEO of Liberty Technologies, a provider of condition-monitoring products and services for energy industries.
   “We believe that we are in a global connectivity explosion — one that will result in a world where everything and everyone will be connected. … Through EMS Aviation, we can now address connectivity markets for virtually any aircraft, from helicopters and military planes to business jets and large passenger jets,” EMS President and CEO Neil Mackay said in a statement.
