CASC plans more than 40 space launches in 2022

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) is targeting  40-plus space launches in 2022, including six missions to complete the construction of the country’s space station, according to its annual work report.

Among the scheduled launches, the most important ones will be the six related to the Tiangong space station program, according to the report delivered by Xu Qiang, general manager of CASC, at the company’s annual work conference on Tuesday.

It plans to launch two cargo craft, two Shenzhou spaceships and two laboratory modules of China’s planned space station within the year.

The Long March-6A carrier rocket will also make its maiden flight in 2022.
