Chang’e-2 Project Awarded State Special Prize

BEIJING, Jan. 21 (China Space News) — The project for the unmanned lunar orbiter Chang’e-2 has been given the State Special Award for Scientific and Technological Progress in 2012.

It received the award, along with two other projects, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing last Friday.

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation has developed and launched two out of the five main systems of the Chang’e-2 mission, namely the Chang’e-2 spacecraft and the LM-3C launch vehicle which carried the satellite into space.
