Shanghai Songjiang Satellite Internet Industry Cluster
The core industry of Shanghai Songjiang Satellite Internet Industry Cluster is located in Jiuting Town, Songjiang District, Shanghai. It is the first industrial cluster in China with satellite Internet constellations as the core of the industry and gathering satellite manufacturing, constellation operations and data application industry chains. In terms of regional layout, Songjiang G60 Satellite Internet Industry Base is the core area, and leading companies in constellation operation and services, satellite R&D and manufacturing, and terminal product R&D and manufacturing are gathered in the Science and Technology Oasis Park and Jiufu Development Zone. In the northern places such as Sijing and Sheshan, the focus is on next-generation satellite network communications, satellite network security, intelligent terminals, intelligent equipment and other fields; in the southern places such as Xinqiao, Chedun, Yongfeng, and Economic Development Zone, the focus is on rocket R&D, design and manufacturing, and satellite measurement and operation control services. At present, the Songjiang District Satellite Internet Industry Cluster has been approved as a national small and medium-sized enterprise characteristic industry cluster.

Industrial agglomeration
In 2024, the scale of Songjiang District’s satellite Internet industry will reach 21.38 billion yuan, gathering 38 satellite assembly, parts, operations, services, ground base stations and terminal equipment companies, including Yuanxin Satellite and Gerth Aerospace. Qianfan Constellation (G60 Starlink) has successfully launched five batches of networking satellites, with 90 satellites in orbit.

On October 8, 2024, the People’s Government of Songjiang District, Shanghai issued the “Songjiang District Commercial Aerospace and Space Information Industry Satellite Internet Segmentation Track High-Quality Development Action Plan (2025-2027)”.
The notice clearly states that by 2027, the region’s commercial satellite batch intelligent manufacturing capacity will reach 300 per year, and the number of satellites in orbit will reach about 600. The scale of the satellite Internet industry has reached about 10 billion yuan, and the total number of satellite Internet-related companies has reached about 100, of which there are more than three “chain owner” companies.
With Qianfan Constellation’s industrial driving capabilities, Shanghai will develop into the second pole of China’s commercial aerospace industry far away from Beijing in the future.
