
The Centre for Space Futures (CSF), together with international partners including Novaspace and SpaceTech Gulf, had signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to jointly develop a Global Space Capability Mapping and Index Dashboard. The agreement had marked the start of a collaborative effort to build a data-driven platform that maps global space capabilities and makes them available for decision-makers worldwide. The initiative had been designed to address a gap in the space ecosystem: limited visibility into who holds which capabilities, and how those capabilities can be applied to solve real-world challenges.
At its core, the dashboard had provided a structured view of global space capabilities across key domains. By leveraging open-source data, advanced methodologies, and partner expertise, the platform was intended to serve as a reference resource for policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers.
Beyond mapping, the initiative was intended to enable practical application. Countries or organizations facing challenges, such as agricultural disease monitoring, climate risks or infrastructure resilience, would have been able to identify where relevant space-enabled capabilities exist, understand how similar problems had been addressed, and connect with the right partners to implement solutions.

“This initiative is about turning capability into impact,” said Eng. Mishaal Ashemimry, Managing Director of CSF. “We are building a tool that helps decision-makers move from identifying a challenge to finding a proven solution and the right partner to deliver it.”

As space technologies had become increasingly relevant to addressing global challenges, many potential users still lacked clear pathways to access and apply them. This collaboration had been intended to address that gap by making capabilities more visible, comparable and usable. The initiative had also produced periodic insights and reports, contributing to an understanding of global space capabilities, emerging applications and opportunities for international collaboration. The MoC had established a framework for joint work over the coming years, reinforcing international cooperation and supporting the development of a global space ecosystem.
