China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation was established on July 1, 1999. Its predecessor was the Fifth Research Institute of the Ministry of National Defense established in 1956. As the leading force in my country’s aerospace science and technology industry, the Aerospace Science and Technology Group has 8 large-scale scientific research and production consortiums, 10 professional companies, 14 domestic and overseas listed companies, and 6 directly affiliated units. It is mainly engaged in the research, design, production, testing and launch services of launch vehicles, various satellites, manned spacecraft, cargo spacecraft, deep space probes, space stations and other aerospace products as well as strategic and tactical missile weapon systems.
