Dhruva Space Expands Indigenous Space Capabilities with Modular Satellite Platforms

Dhruva Space, a Hyderabad-based full-stack space engineering company, is advancing a portfolio of modular satellite platforms designed to support commercial, scientific and defense missions in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and beyond. The company’s satellite architecture spans spacecraft ranging from CubeSats to Microsats, with platform masses extending from less than 1 kg to 500 kg, enabling scalable mission deployment across a wide range of applications.

The company’s satellite platforms portfolio is built around three core platforms: P-DoT CubeSat, P-30 NanoSat and P-Nu MicroSat. All three platforms are designed with a common philosophy centered on modularity, constellation scalability, LEO optimization, and rapid payload integration. Dhruva Space also incorporates body-mounted and deployable solar array architectures, allowing customers to design spacecraft configurations to mission-specific requirements.

The P-DoT CubeSat platform is designed for compact satellite missions ranging from 0.5U to 12U, with platform masses between 1 and 24 kg. The platform supports mission lifetimes of up to five years and offers pointing accuracy of up to 0.1°. Built as a TRL-9, space-qualified architecture, P-DoT is optimized for Earth observation constellations, technology demonstrations, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications and IoT applications. The platform supports multi-payload configurations and incorporates three-axis stabilization for advanced mission operations.

For higher-capability missions, Dhruva Space offers the P-30 NanoSat platform, its flagship nanosatellite bus. Designed for spacecraft masses between 20 and 50 kg, the P-30 combines three-axis stabilization, deployable solar arrays and multi-payload integration capability within a compact architecture. The platform supports hosted payload missions and incorporates electric propulsion for orbit maneuverability, enabling greater mission flexibility and orbital control. Like the P-DoT, the P-30 is a TRL-9 platform with up to five years of operational life and pointing accuracy of up to 0.1°.

At the larger end of the portfolio, the P-Nu MicroSat platform is engineered for spacecraft masses of up to 500 kg. Designed as a robust and scalable microsatellite architecture, P-Nu supports multiple payload configurations, deployable solar arrays, three-axis stabilization, and onboard propulsion for orbit station-keeping. The platform is intended for customers requiring higher payload capacity while maintaining compatibility with constellation-scale deployments and long-duration orbital operations.

A key extension of Dhruva Space’s satellite platform strategy is its LEAP (Launching Expeditions for Aspiring Payloads) hosted payload program, developed on the flagship P-30 satellite bus. The hosted payload architecture accommodates payloads up to 12U, supports payload masses up to 15 kg, provides up to 50 W of payload power at a 50% duty cycle, and delivers pointing accuracy of up to 0.1°. LEAP is designed to provide customers with faster and more cost-effective access to orbit for in-orbit validation and demonstration missions. Through the P-DoT, P-30, P-Nu, and LEAP offerings, Dhruva Space is building an indigenous satellite ecosystem focused on modularity, rapid deployment and scalable mission support, enabling customers to access flight-proven spacecraft platforms across a broad range of orbital applications.
