[Via Satellite 01-13-2014] Norwegian Cruise Line is connecting iDirect’s X7 high-performance satellite modem on its Norwegian Breakaway ship. MTN Communications’ installed the X7 after a six-month test process in its Miramar, Fla. engineering lab.
The X7 modem uses advanced adaptive modulation techniques and enhanced beam switching to provide faster network acquisition and enable speeds of up to 100 Mbps. It is optimized for MTN’s high-throughput multi spot beam (HTMS) satellite platform, which will start in 2015.
