Swedish Microwave Introduces New C-Band PLL Block Down Converter for the Satellite Market

Swedish Microwave (SMW) one of the leading manufacturers of professional Low Noise Block downconverters (LNB) for the satellite market which is used in VSAT systems, SNGs, Cable-TV headends, Marine VSAT, and Satcom-On-The-Move applications have introduced a new C-Band PLL block down converter.

The C-BDC 5.15 S PLL block-down converter is intended for receiving C-Band transmissions within the frequency range of 3.625 to 4.200 GHz. It has a fixed gain configurability between 0 dB and 50 dB (factory set). The converter is normally used together with an external C-band low-noise amplifier.

The down converter consists of an SMA female RF input. IF output is standard L-Band inverted spectrum via N-, F- or SMA- connector. Options include customized LO, customized gain, separate DC power input, and separate input for the external 10 MHz reference.

The block-down converter features Internal Interference mitigating filters and has a low phase noise to meet the DVB-S2X VSAT profile. It has a wide operating temperature range and is IP 67 classed for outdoor use. The converter has a low profile to fit 1U for build-in applications and consists of LNB-Link / Versa-Link for Fiber optic RF links.
