Tiangong-1 & Shenzhou-8 Mission Voted Top 10 Science News

BEIJING, Jan. 11 (China Space News) — The top ten science news in 2011 in the world and in China were announced respectively in Beijing on December 29. Three major space engineering missions undertaken by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) were on the list.

This yearly event was organized by Science and Technology Daily, and the 20 finalists were voted by some academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and by science news editors-in-chief from state media.

“China’s homegrown navigation satellite network starts providing services”, “Chang’e-2 goes to outer space” and “Tiangong-1 docks with Shenzhou-8” were included in China’s ten biggest science news list.

“China’s space docking feat boosting space technology” was voted one of the world’s ten biggest science news.
