Xona Launches Pulsar Verified Program to Accelerate Adoption of Next-Generation Satellite Navigation

Xona Space Systems has launched Pulsar Verified, a new ecosystem partnership program designed to help receiver manufacturers, chipset developers and test equipment providers validate compatibility with the company’s next-generation low Earth orbit (LEO) navigation signals.

The initiative aims to accelerate adoption of Xona’s Pulsar navigation service by providing a technical verification process for hardware manufacturers while supporting the broader development of resilient positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies.

Supporting the Next Generation of Navigation

The announcement follows the first anniversary of Xona’s Pulsar-0 demonstration satellite, which the company said successfully completed its first year in orbit.

During the mission, the satellite completed more than 350 transmission passes across four continents, generated approximately 22 terabytes of observation data, received four software updates in orbit and demonstrated signal tracking using commercial receivers in locations ranging from Finland to Australia.

According to Xona, these on-orbit demonstrations have validated the performance of its navigation signals while laying the groundwork for commercial deployment.

Verification for Device Manufacturers

Pulsar Verified enables equipment manufacturers to submit receivers, chipsets and testing platforms for technical validation by Xona’s engineering team.

The program is intended to confirm that compatible hardware can successfully receive and operate with Pulsar signals, allowing developers to prepare products for future deployment as the satellite constellation expands.

Xona said it has collaborated with major commercial GNSS chipset manufacturers to help integrate Pulsar capability into existing development ecosystems, allowing device makers to adopt the technology through familiar supply chains.

Early Industry Partners

Several companies have joined the inaugural Pulsar Verified cohort.

Among the early participants are Trimble, which is enabling Pulsar compatibility on selected devices introduced as early as 2018, and Septentrio, part of Hexagon, which is working to integrate Pulsar support across its next-generation receiver portfolio.

Additional launch partners include STMicroelectronics, Safran, StarNav and Keysight.

Xona said these partnerships are intended to help expand the availability of Pulsar-compatible hardware ahead of wider constellation deployment.

Addressing Navigation Resilience

The company said growing concerns over satellite navigation interference have increased demand for more resilient positioning technologies.

According to Xona, incidents involving GNSS jamming and spoofing have expanded beyond military environments and are increasingly affecting commercial sectors including aviation, maritime transport, agriculture, autonomous systems and financial infrastructure.

The company said live-sky testing demonstrated that Pulsar signals remained available under conditions where conventional GNSS signals were disrupted, adding that the stronger signal architecture can significantly reduce the effective coverage area of jamming systems.

Preparing for Commercial Deployment

Xona said launching Pulsar Verified ahead of the rollout of its production constellation allows manufacturers to design products that will be ready for future navigation services without requiring hardware replacements later.

The company believes early integration will provide customers with greater flexibility as Pulsar capabilities expand alongside the growing satellite network, supporting next-generation positioning applications across commercial and industrial markets.
