China’s commercial aerospace tenth anniversary survey officially launched, the first stop was in Zhuzhou

2025 will be the tenth year of China’s commercial aerospace development.

From allowing social capital to enter the aerospace field in 2015 to today’s rapid development of rockets, satellites, remote sensing, and low-orbit Internet, China’s commercial aerospace has entered a period of accelerated industrialization from an exploration period.

But at the same time, in the past 10 years, China’s commercial aerospace still lacked a systematic industry review and local practical observation.

From May 22 to 24, Nihao Space organized more than 10 self-media companies in the commercial aerospace field to visit the “Beidou City” Zhuzhou, and the national survey on the 10th anniversary of China’s commercial aerospace was officially launched.

China’s commercial aerospace enters the “local industry era”

In the past 10 years, China’s commercial aerospace industry has not only given birth to a number of companies, but also is forming multiple local industrial clusters and characteristic development paths. Different cities have begun to form differentiated paths based on their own resource endowments. Some rely on launch and test capabilities, some focus on satellite manufacturing, some develop remote sensing applications, and some are exploring the integration of traditional industrial systems with commercial aerospace. In other words, China’s commercial aerospace industry is moving from enterprise competition to competition between cities and industrial systems. In this context, systematic observation and research of local industries has become particularly important.

First stop: Zhuzhou: China Commercial Aerospace 10th Anniversary Survey Launched

From May 22 to 24, the first stop of China’s commercial aerospace tenth anniversary survey came to Zhuzhou. This event was organized by Nihao Space, and more than 10 self-media companies in the commercial aerospace field participated. They visited the Zhuzhou Beidou Industrial Park and related enterprises, and conducted in-depth research on Zhuzhou’s development in Beidou applications, advanced manufacturing, aerospace information and other fields. During the survey, the team visited a number of companies in the fields of aviation equipment, satellite manufacturing, Beidou applications, advanced materials, etc., and gained an in-depth understanding of Zhuzhou’s large-scale Beidou application scenarios in the fields of transportation, low-altitude, police, and emergency response.

03

An important observation: Zhuzhou is underestimated by the industry

During this survey, a very consistent judgment was that Zhuzhou’s industrial foundation in Beidou and commercial aerospace fields is obviously stronger than industry recognition. Zhuzhou not only has hundreds of billions of industry clusters such as rail transit and aerospace engines, but is also forming a unique path for the development of Beidou-scale applications and aerospace information industries. What deserves particular attention is that Zhuzhou has gradually moved from “technology demonstration” to “large-scale application.” From taxis to shared electric vehicles, from urban management to emergency systems, Beidou equipment has entered real urban operation scenarios; from advanced manufacturing to aviation power, Zhuzhou is also providing an important industrial foundation for the future development of the aerospace information industry. It can be seen that Zhuzhou is forming an industrial path of “advanced manufacturing + Beidou applications + aerospace information”. The key to this path lies in three structural characteristics: 1) Strong industrial base support, complete rail transit, aviation power, and equipment manufacturing systems. 2) Real application scenarios have been implemented, and Beidou has entered city-level application systems. 3) The aerospace industry has begun to sprout, and relevant companies and industrial platforms are forming an initial gathering. This combination gives Zhuzhou an industrial base that is different from most cities. Judging from industry trends, the future development of commercial aerospace will not only involve rocket and satellite manufacturing, but will also gradually integrate with navigation, communications, remote sensing, low-orbit Internet, spatio-temporal data and other directions to form a new air and space information infrastructure. Zhuzhou is becoming one of the representative local samples.

The significance of the 10th anniversary survey of commercial aerospace

The 10th anniversary survey of China’s commercial aerospace industry that Nihao Space is promoting is not only an industry visit, but also a systematic industry observation work. Its core goals include sorting out the distribution of China’s commercial aerospace industry clusters, studying local industry development paths, recording key enterprises and application scenarios, and analyzing future industry directions. The research will focus on China’s commercial aerospace industry clusters, local industrial ecology, key enterprises, application scenarios and future directions. It will continue to visit key cities, parks and enterprises across the country to form a series of industrial research and case observations. In the future, Nihao Space will continue to visit key cities, industrial parks and enterprises across the country to form systematic industrial research and case output. At the same time, it will also continue to publish local industry case studies, commercial aerospace industry cluster analysis, enterprise and technology development observations, and aerospace information industry trend research and judgment.
