Enabled Intelligence Secures Up to $708 Million NGA Contract for AI Data Labeling

Artificial intelligence startup Enabled Intelligence has secured an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) valued at up to $708.3 million, aimed at supporting large-scale data labeling operations across government agencies.

The seven-year contract, known as SEQUOIA, was awarded in September but announced later following the resumption of federal government operations. Under the agreement, Enabled Intelligence will provide computer vision capabilities to automate functions such as object detection, tracking, classification and pattern recognition. The company will also support natural language processing and artificial intelligence and machine learning tools for business process automation within the geospatial intelligence mission.

Founded in 2020, the company focuses on transforming raw, unstructured data into actionable intelligence. The deal reflects growing pressure on U.S. intelligence agencies to process the expanding volume of data collected daily from Earth observation systems that include optical, infrared and synthetic aperture radar imagery.

Government agencies are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence to handle the scale and speed required for modern intelligence analysis. The SEQUOIA award is the largest data-labeling contract issued by the NGA to date, according to the announcement.

As part of the program, Enabled Intelligence will collaborate with defense and intelligence technology contractors including BAE Systems, Vantor — formerly Maxar Intelligence — and Whiteboard Federal to integrate AI tools into the broader geospatial intelligence infrastructure. The technology is expected to support activities such as monitoring changes in military infrastructure, identifying potential threats and delivering operational insights to decision-makers in near real time.
