Marlink Launches Multi-LEO Connectivity Service for Maritime Sector

Marlink has launched a new hybrid satellite connectivity service designed for maritime customers, combining multiple low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks into a single managed platform.

The service, called Sealink Multi‑LEO, integrates connectivity from Starlink and Eutelsat OneWeb while allowing additional LEO networks to be incorporated as they become available. The company announced the launch on March 3.

Sealink Multi-LEO is designed to provide a unified data allowance across participating satellite networks. The system can be deployed on individual vessels or configured with fleet-wide data pooling, enabling shipping companies to distribute connectivity usage across multiple ships.

Available packages range from 500 gigabytes to 10 terabytes of data, according to Marlink.

The company said the platform is intended to support increasing demand for high-bandwidth connectivity at sea, as shipping operators adopt digital services aimed at improving operational efficiency and crew welfare.

Sealink Multi-LEO operates through Marlink’s Possibility Platform, which provides centralized management of connectivity services along with cybersecurity, cloud integration and IT systems. The platform dynamically selects satellite networks based on performance, coverage and availability.

Tore Morten Olsen said the service reflects growing industry demand for reliable LEO connectivity.

“Demand for LEO connectivity continues to grow as shipowners look for higher performance and greater predictability at sea,” Olsen said in a statement. “With Sealink Multi-LEO, we are bringing together leading LEO networks into a single, fully managed service model that simplifies operations while delivering the performance and resilience our customers expect.”

The company said the hybrid service aims to provide consistent connectivity across fleets while allowing operators to scale bandwidth and network resources based on operational requirements.
