In the past month, commercial spaceflight has suddenly become a hot topic among the people. Many “commercial aerospace concept stocks” in the secondary market were pushed up quickly, and then fell sharply in a short period of time; many companies were labeled as “commercial aerospace”, but their main business is not closely related to aerospace; the public’s attention has never been greater, but what is a real commercial aerospace company has become more unclear. It is against this background that the list of companies shortlisted for the top 10 Chinese commercial aerospace companies in 2026 by Nihao Space & Luduan Think Tank was officially announced.

Why announce the shortlist?
We publish the shortlist based on two main considerations. First, let the public see clearly who the real commercial aerospace companies are. During periods of heightened market sentiment, labels can easily be abused. Commercial aerospace is not a “concept”, but a set of industrial systems that continue to invest in rockets, satellites, constellations, applications, and engineering systems. The more than 100 companies shortlisted this time are companies that constitute the mainstream force of China’s commercial aerospace industry based on real technology, real engineering, and real industry positions. Second, we hope to provide the industry with a different frame of reference. Before multiple lists and studies are released one after another, we choose to announce the shortlist in advance in the hope of providing the industry with a set of observation coordinates that are different from the ranking of financing scale and market capitalization. In an industry such as commercial aerospace, which is project-intensive and has a long cycle, capital results are often lagging behind, and engineering capabilities and industrial location are the core variables that determine the long-term direction. Therefore, this shortlist is not the answer to “who has raised more money”, but to “who has truly stood in a key position in the industry”:
Don’t judge heroes based on financing, but based on real capabilities and progress as the bottom line.

Hello Space’s list, what are you looking for? What not to watch?
What needs special explanation is: the top 10 list of Nihao Space is not a financing list, nor a market capitalization list. There is only one basic threshold for shortlisting: whether it has real technological and engineering progress and occupies a clear and important position in the industry chain. This means: If there is financing but no project implementation, it is difficult to be shortlisted; If there is a concept but no continuous investment, it is difficult to be shortlisted; If there is business connection but it is not the core of the industry, it will also be strictly scrutinized. The list is not for “good coverage”, but to answer a question:
If China’s commercial aerospace industry is dismantled into a complete system, which companies are the nodes that really cannot be ignored?

Some phenomena that deserve to be taken seriously by the industry
1. Each list has about 15 shortlisted companies, but not 10 of them are “most innovative”. This is an unsightly fact, but one that must be faced honestly. In the list of “China’s Top 10 Most Innovative Commercial Aerospace Companies in 2026”, we did not deliberately fill up the list of 10 companies. This does not mean that the review is lax, but it just shows:
At the current stage, the innovation density of China’s commercial aerospace industry is still low.
Innovation does not mean iteration, it does not mean following, and it does not mean PPT. Cases that are truly technologically original or have paradigm-breaking significance are still scarce. 2. The large-scale inclusion of satellite applications and services is a deliberate choice. From a global perspective, satellite applications and services are the largest market for commercial aerospace. However, in China, the number of companies in this field is huge, their identities are vague, and their boundaries are unclear. They have long been outside the definition of “aerospace enterprises.” This time, we have systematically introduced a large number of application and service companies into the list with only one purpose:
Send a clear signal to the industry——
In the future, the success or failure of commercial aerospace will ultimately depend on the application and commercial closed loop.
Rockets and satellites are just the starting point, and application is the end. 3. There are more and more “hidden champions”, indicating that the market is getting bigger. In the list of “Hidden Champions of Commercial Aerospace”, there are some companies whose main business is not commercial aerospace, but occupy important positions in key links, such as Huawei. This is not “cross-border making up numbers”, but a trend judgment:

In the future, there will only be more and more such companies. 4. No longer distinguish between “private” and “national team”. In this list selection, private companies and national team commercial companies will be evaluated on the same stage and the standards will be unified. After more than ten years of development, China’s commercial aerospace has entered a new stage:
Forces from different backgrounds are competing on the same business table.
At this time, using “private/state-owned enterprises” as a priori distinction will not be conducive to the maturity of the industry.
