Frontgrade Technologies, a leader in high-reliability, mission-critical space electronics, and VORAGO, a pioneer in radiation-hardened semiconductor technology, are jointly developing advanced space computing solutions to meet the increasing demands of autonomous, data-intensive space applications. This collaboration will support the rapid development and deployment of scalable computing platforms to address the increasing processing demands of advanced space missions, including on-orbit autonomy, real-time data processing, and AI capabilities.
Together, the companies will align their long-term technical roadmaps, ensuring seamless integration of VORAGO’s advanced processing architectures into Frontgrade’s mission-matched computing solutions. The joint roadmap is expected to produce a progression of modular, standards-based computing products that can be configured for a wide range of mission profiles from small satellites to crewed exploration systems while maintaining the radiation resilience and reliability required in extreme space environments.
“This joint effort reflects Frontgrade’s commitment to innovation and our belief in the power of collaboration,” said Tommy Reed, Chief Growth Officer at Frontgrade Technologies. “By leveraging VORAGO’s rad-hard processing architecture, we’re positioned to accelerate the deployment of scalable, space-qualified computing platforms that meet the evolving needs of commercial and government space missions.”
The collaboration will focus on integrating Frontgrade’s expertise in system design, packaging, and space-qualified computing platforms with VORAGO’s cutting-edge, rad-hard processors. The combined solutions will be designed to deliver powerful, reliable computing for missions from low Earth orbit to deep space.
“As space systems grow more autonomous and data-intensive, the need for reliable, high-performance computing grows exponentially,” said Ken Obuszewski, Vice President of Business Development and Product at VORAGO. “Working together with an industry leader like Frontgrade allows for solutions that will power the future of space exploration and commercial space infrastructure.” Frontgrade and VORAGO expect to announce additional developments, including new product releases, reference designs, and evaluation platforms, in the coming months.
