Historic touchdown: European Space Agency lands probe on comet

The European Space Agency made history on Wednesday morning after it successfully landed a probe on a comet.

Philae, a 220-pound box-sized lander, live-tweeted her seven-hour descent from mother ship Rosetta.

This is the first time a probe has landed on a comet and was part of a 10-year, $1.3 billion mission that should help scientists learn more about comet formations.
